Learn more about Salt Face Mule and the history of the name Learn More
Here at Salt Face Mule, we brew honest beer for honest people. We strive to serve you an easy drink after a long day's work, or when you're feeling just plain "thirstier than a Salt Face Mule". With years of experience under our belts, our mission at Salt Face Mule is to pay respect to area traditions while experimenting with new brewing technology and trends.
Our head brewer, Ray Dobens, is continuously and carefully creating brews for “people who love beer.” Our ever-expanding portfolio of core brews, seasonal beers and limited edition batches highlight styles including Pilsners, IPAs, stouts, Weiss beers, and more. Check out our current offerings on our beverage menu and Untappd.
Our draft lines are always loaded with 14 house beers, plus a local hard cider and ginger beer. In addition to our draft offerings, we also serve soft drinks, a variety of wines, a full liquor bar with specialty cocktails plus guest cans of alternative and non-alcoholic brews.
From the mountains to the Bayou-and with plenty of twists and turns along the way-we believe that food should be fun and comforting. As far as the food goes, we will remain true to our Southern roots, cooking up comfort food with a Twist; deliciously nostalgic and new all at once.
With collective craft and culinary knowledge and experience from across the region, we strive for continued creativity, aiming to always keep the food as fun as the atmosphere. At Salt Face Mule, we're always serving up plenty of traditional southern dishes that you know and love like The Burger and our Shrimp and Grits, as well as a few items that may be new and completely different. Eat up!
Every effort should be made to utilize food services and offerings provided by the establishment, to include access to catering, buffets, multi-course meals, appetizers, entrees, sandwiches, and desserts. With that in mind, no outside food is allowed at our facility with the exception of celebratory items such as cakes and cupcakes, within reasonable limits.
We also offer dedicated kids options. Our goal is to provide a delicious and enjoyable experience for everyone.
Before the days of Salt Face Mule Brewing, our facility housed a number of recreational activities, including mini golf courses, go-karts and batting cages. Since the brewery's opening, we've been lucky enough to keep the 36 holes mini golf course open.
As of spring 2024, we have two 18-hole mini golf courses and two full-size bocce ball courts available for guests to use. Both activities are paid services with necessary gear required for play available in our merch shop.
While we take great pride in being a family-friendly establishment, it's important to note that our primary focus is on our brewery and restaurant, complemented by our recreational activities. Please understand that our golf courses and bocce ball courts are not intended to be used as a playground. These amenities are specifically reserved for those who have paid to play and have agreed to abide by the rules of the course. We kindly request that running of any kind is strictly prohibited anywhere on our property, and we ask that children be accompanied by adults at all times. Your cooperation and consideration for the property, our staff, and others is much appreciated.
While the go-karts and batting cages have since been retired, we will be adding RC Cars to our activities lineup later this year. Stay tuned for updates on this offering during summer 2024.
We are a family-oriented business and we want that to be felt by the community and visitors alike. Our family friendly brewery invites families of all backgrounds with children of any age to visit our brewery and partake in the many family friendly activities that we have to offer. With that said, it is critical for the experience of all guests that all children receive adequate parental supervision while at our facility at all times. This includes inside our taproom, on our mini golf courses, on our patio and in our parking lot.
In the event that children on premise are lacking supervision from an attentive guardian while at our facility, guardians will be swiftly and politely notified of their responsibility to monitor their children's location and behavior at all times. Failure to comply with our supervision policy may result in the removal of said party from our facility.
It's important to note that we are primarily a brewery and restaurant that is also a recreational facility. The safety and enjoyment of all our guests are of utmost importance to us. To ensure a pleasant experience for everyone, we kindly request that all visitors respect our property and adhere to the rules of the golf course. These rules include no running at any time and limiting access to the putting greens to players only. Children should always be accompanied by at least one adult during play. Additionally, our recreational facilities are reserved for its intended and designated usage at all times. Therefore, any recreational areas, such as our mini golf courses and bocce ball courts, shall not be used for undesignated play.
These rules are in place not only for the safety of children but also for the well-being of all our guests and staff, as well as for the preservation of this unique property, which we want everyone to continue to enjoy!
Yes! Leashed pups are welcome on our patio. Why are only leashed dogs allowed? Well, as a mini-golf facility, we must ensure that dogs do not run freely and potentially cause accidents or damage to the course.
Additionally, due to our status as a restaurant, only service animals are permitted inside the tap room/dining room, as mandated by the NC Health Department.
This very unique venue seems destined for special events, and we have options for hosting parties, fundraisers, mini-golf tournaments, and more. Feel free to reach out to us if you have something in mind and to get more info.
Where to start? This company is owned and operated by some of the same folks who created and have been running the Twisted Laurel restaurants for years. Some of our team have also stayed within the family, making the move to the brewery with us. Beyond that, the beer and food will be a whole new experience.
